Troy Chantland, Owner & Head Teacher
I have been working with children since 1986, when I started as a coordinator for an after school program for 1st - 4th graders. Since then, I have worked as a preschool teacher in High Scope, Play- Based, and Montessori schools.
I earned a B.A. in Child Psychology & Development from St. Mary's College of California in 1991, and went on to earn two teaching credentials: the American Montessori Society's Primary Certificate and a Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential, both in 1994.
I recently moved to Sacramento to be closer to family and decided that it was an ideal time to create the classroom I have always envisioned: GreeneHouse Montessori Preschool!
Eliot Olson, Classroom Assistant
Eliot has worked with students from age 4-10 in public, private and Waldorf afterschool programs and summer camps, organizations such as Girls Rock Sacramento, and the ASES program at Martin Luther King Jr. K-6 School.
Eliot was a Montessori student from kindergarten until 5th grade, and is excited about the opportunity to teach and grow in a Montessori classroom.
In their spare time, Eliot enjoys gardening, art and baking, as well as playing multiple instruments.
Emily is a Sacramento State student majoring in Early Childhood Education. She has been working in childcare programs since she was a teenager. Children love Ms. Emily because she is patient and kind and knows so many silly songs! Plus, she never runs out of fun, creative activity ideas for them.
Emily is expanding her skillset and now divides her time at GreeneHouse: She is still the Afternoon Childcare lead three afternoons a week, and now she is also the Classroom Assistant for Morning Montessori Preschool two mornings a week.
